This email template got 1,593 clicks in one month—Steal it!
I’ve sent four emails this month and pulled in nearly 1,600 clicks. That’s not a typo. Almost sixteen hundred people clicked through from emails that took me maybe five minutes each to write. Look at the graph for proof.
Normally, I roll my eyes at “high-converting” email templates. I’ve tried them. They never work. But this one? This one actually delivers. And you should steal it—just like I did. I found this template thanks to Andrew Gould, who pointed me to it. And the genius behind it? Chris Orzechowski. His framework is dead simple and, as I’ve now proven, wildly effective.
The template that actually works
Chris’s original structure is straightforward:
✅ One sentence with a hook
✅ Three bullets that address pain points
✅ One sentence to create intrigue
✅ One sentence with a link to click
That’s it. Short, sharp, and irresistible.
I tweaked it slightly for my own style:
• Two to four opening sentences instead of just one
• Three simple supporting bullets
• One intrigue sentence
• One sentence with a link
• Hook-based subject lines that grab attention
And guess what? It works.
Subject lines that crushed it—and didn’t
The three emails that pulled in the most clicks:
📩 Will posting on LinkedIn help my biz? Four tips to beat social media anxiety.
📩 Is AI a threat? Three ways to turn it into your biggest asset.
📩 I went from 20K to 40K subs in one year. Here’s how. Plus an offer.
And the one that flopped:
❌ Free ghostwriting is finally here. Three best ways to use it for your content.
I have a theory: People don’t resonate with the word “ghostwriting.” So I’m cutting that from future subject lines.
What’s next?
Next week’s email is titled:
📩 SEO isn’t dead, but easy SEO probably is. Here’s the fix.
A little clickbaity? Maybe. But my goal is high open rates and high click-through rates. Now that I have a formula that works, my next challenge is to refine my offer and convert these clicks into leads.
I’m also experimenting with different formats so things don’t get stale.
